Sydney Mondry is a writer & essay coach living in San Francisco.

She holds a BA in Nonfiction Writing from Brown University, an MFA in Creative Writing from California College of the Arts, and a Certificate in Independent Educational Consulting from the University of California Irvine. Before becoming an essay coach, Sydney covered all things culinary as an InStyle.com staff writer and spent two years at VICE directing Instagram strategy across six verticals and running social media for their food website, MUNCHIES. In the summer of 2020, she worked as a Narration Producer on the Hulu food and travel show Eater’s Guide to the World. She also recently co-founded Erne, a pickleball player platform created to help everyone start (or continue) their journey into the world of pickleball.

When Sydney isn’t helping students craft their college essays, you can usually find her working on her novel or making friends on the pickleball court.
